http://www.stargate6.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=38
has forum that have links for most every piece of equipment.

So is that the consensus we doing SG over SM this year? The costume is the same execpt for the patches, but if we do SG I AM getting a P-90. i saw the tactical chest sling SG style on ebay for like $9

Awesome links!

Let me tell you what I'm thinking of doing ...

I think most ... if not all of us are doing SG this year ... as far as I know. I do know that last call Cibernite was planning the Joker. Wouldn't it be cool to escort him in cuffs at some point at Shoreleave?

I plan on keeping with the Marine theme, but making it Stargate Marines rather than Starfleet Marines. We've seen them in the Stargate shows and there are patches for just that thing. I also would like to keep using my Marine insignia that I've gained over the years.

I think I have an idea for placement of patches, but could someone help us out on that. Make sure everyone is on the right track.

Also we know that the P-90 and MP5 are the chosen rifles for SG. What are the sidearms? What is basic standard?

Let's try to keep each other updated on the progress we make with costumes. Make sure we're all on the same page.

And hey ... anyone else in FKA that wishes to dress up at Shoreleave ... drop a line. It would be great to have 20 or 30+ in a SG team representing FKA!

Again awesome links Pierre. Awesome ... I really needed those!

Red ... Where did you get the name strips from? You told me you got a decent price on those. I know that Sgt Grit and US Cav does them, but anywhere else to compare shop with?

And one more thing ... I'm going to go through my stuff soon. I'm not bringing everything I usually bring this year. A great deal of it doesn't fit with this theme ... at least this year.

I have also seen SG marine patches as well as sg delta and sd special forces. I think we put the sG marine patch where the unit patch would go and we put the SG command or the planet patch on the other shoulder. Since we all have the vlecro patches this shouldn't be a prob, not to mention getting the MArine patches will be easier than agreeing on a SG unit. So I am with you man.... plus ...this is really sad, but SL 2 years from now throw on a helmetw/ goggles, some knee pads and some eldow pads and you have .... da da da dun BSG marines. I am telling you man the basic uniform of black BDU is great and VERY flexable

I've actually been going by Army/Air Force Regs for the placement of patches. It's on the web. The link escapes me at the moment.

For a sidearm, I usually carry a Sig Sauer. I think military issue these days is a 9mm Baretta. I can check with the AF cops in our office, though, if you want realism.

I usually buy all my insignia and name tapes from Uniform Accessories Unlimited (http://www.miluniform.com). Good prices and the service has always been excellent.

And, as with last year, I like BDU.com for the BDUs. Service there was excellent, too. =)

I will agree with the BDU.com support. I think patch placement is SGC or planet on the right and unit on the left. I will double check that. Also the SF/SG marines (according to my reading) usually have beret or 8 point garrison cover.... I have yet to SEE a black 8 point garrison cover. So I would go with regular garrison cap. I am trying to think of other details that will be good .... I agree with red about the 9mm Beretta, however I think any pistol should be fine...(i dont want to have to get a side arm on top of my P-90). the ear piece is a nice touch.... plus just the ear part shouldn't be to bad.... the radio I think we can do without. I will add as I think it up.

I think I saw the cover in last years Stargate Atlantis finale when the Marines arrived to help against the Wraith. I do have several Beret's and all that if people want to go that route. Just have to communicate with me their needs.

I'm more than willing to help anyone.
